Bad bad blogger

Wow I guess I am not doing any better on this blog than my past attempts. I swear its my new job. I work 2 days then I am off 2 days, then on 2 then off 1. The nights I work I only get between 4-5 hours a sleep once I get home. The nights I am off I usually get a full 8 at least.

My sock knitting is at a stand still. I have knit a few Bounce hats made out of Andy's Merino from Farmhouse yarns. It is a real fast knit. Done on size 10 needles. I normally hate bulky yarn but have become addicted to this pattern. I have done 2 so far and plan on getting another skein for one this week.

I am also going to try my hand at a knitting board and slipper kit that I saw advertised somewhere. They look nice and cosy. The soles are suede so I am assuming are going to be quite durable.

There I finally figured out how to put a picture in this thing. Don't they look cosy?

I am also going to order Delta jacket pattern and yarn to work on it is for a felted jacket. I saw it in the new Interweaves Knitted Gifts issue. It is from Knowknits.com .

I am getting real ambitous here and saw these also in the same magazine. I am not using the Jamison yarn they call for though. Too expensive. I think I will use the Palette yarn from Knitpicks.

I just love to do fairisland knitting. I made the stocking cap out of Knits magazine several years ago and some mitts last year.

I really hate this time of the year the cold and all, but I do love to knit and wear hats, scarves and mittens and such. We organized our coat mess this weekend and my daughter came up with a huge pile of my knitwear that I wear all winter. I actually wore my newest Bounce hat yesterday from the time I got dressed. I covers up and tames my wild hair. I think I will probably will start wearing them at work too once it gets a little cooler in the building. It will juat be a matter of time before it does since I work in a warehouse.

Still alive

Well I am still alive after my first 2 days of work. I wasn't so sure after Monday though. I could barely walk. My work boots were killing my ankles and I had a horrible headache. I got home and crawled into bed. Tuesday I just laid around all day until it was time to go in. It was much better, not nearly as much pain in the feet. And I wasn't really all that tired when I came home. I had yesterday off. Tonight is day 3. At work I am in constant motion, the only time I get to sit is on breaks.

I haven't even picked up any yarn or knitting since Sunday. I sort of thought about it yesterday. This morning I was back to trying to pick yarn for the sweater I want to to tackle soon. I even got an ad in my email for a pair of wool sock-boots with suede soles. I think I will order the kit next week. The only thing is they are knit on a knitting board, which means I need to buy on of those too. Just what I need another toy. I never had any desire to get a knitting board, but have been seeing the possibilities this morning. Maybe I can several pairs of the sock-boots and sell them.

Yesterday I played catch up with Tivo and the new season shows I missed the past 2 days. I think I got them up watched except The Cleaner. It's going to be crazy next week since most of the shows are starting their new season next week. I will have to make sure that 2 different shows aren't being recorded at once or I will get yelled at by the hubby. That really bugs him when 2 shows are being recorded at once because you have to watch on of them, and he usually doesn't like the shows I watch.

New Starts

Well I am trying to do a blog again. Hopefully this time will be more successful. So this is the first new start. The second new start is I start my new job today. The first time in a long time I will be working a real job. This is a physical job, which is fine with me it makes the day go by faster, or the night. This job is strictly afternoon shift, something I really need to get used to. I have been staying up later the past few nights but my body keeps waking up near the time I have been for the past few years. So things better get in-sync soon. I am sure it will once I actually start working. Today is orientation so I go in from 1:30 to 12:30. The normal shift is 4:00 to 2:30 a.m. with the possibility of overtime. That will be fine with me since that will mean more money. I am happy I will be having my own money again so I can indulge in some yummy yarn goodness.

I have itching to start a new project. A cabled sweater out of the Fall Vogue Knitting magazine. I think I have decided on the yarn. I am thinking I sort of needing to take a break from endless stream of socks I have been knitting. I think the count is up to 13-15 pair since then end of April. I have 2 pair actively in the works at the present time. The first pair is the Knotty or Knice (sp.) socks out of the current IK Knits magazine. And the second pair is a fun and interesting pattern called Circle socks. I got that pattern of of Ravelry. They remind me of the Monterrey Socks in the Ecclectic Sole book. I love the socks but they seem impractical since they look like Swiss cheese. I need to make a pair for my daughter though, she is begging for the Monterrey socks. They should be an interesting knit. If I remember right they are knit flat. Now I have to decide if I want to use my favorite yarn for them Socks that Rock yarn.

I also have to get my fuzzy brain to think about the dog we are trying to get who is MA right now. The problem is getting him to us in PA. I think I have a ride for him but the problem is the time frame. A third party last night suggested a possible solution to the problem, but rose a whole another bunch of questions and possible problems I need to think about. This whole thing is like buying a pig in a poke, so I guess I have to clear my brain some and do some thinking.

I need to take some pictures to add to this blog so there will be something interesting to look at. That will give me a chance to play with the hubby's new camera. I am bugging him to get me one just like his or a better model.
